Hiking and General Trail Monitoring
There are 15 miles of trails at Chester Woods. These trails need to be cleared of fallen limbs, checked for erosion, and frequently upgraded with mulch.
Cross Country Ski and Snow Shoe trail grooming
These trails are groomed regularly with a snowmobile during the snow season. There are 5 miles of cross country ski trails and 3 miles of groomed snow shoe trails. Staff will offer training.
Horse trail monitoring
Those that have equestrian permits may enjoy monitoring the trails and notifying the park staff when enforcement or trail hazard attention is needed. Hiking, park ATV's and horseback are methods of patrolling.
Wildflower Interpretation
During the months of April - October, offering help to identify and label wildflowers in bloom and plants of specific interest along the trails is greatly appreciated. This activity can be updated every 2 weeks.
